Singing

I would like to see some lessons about singing. I know you can sing although I don't find anything under your name (although I haven't looked, either). Again, this is with the Stapleton and other accomplished musicians. They have a set strumming pattern while singing a song. The strumming doesn't hit like most of songs on a specific word for the chord progression. THere is a chord progression, which seems to last through song the entire song as the singer sings whenever the words fall into their lyrical algorithm instead of changing on a beat within the lyrics. Any thoughts from anyone. Would love to hear and thank you all for reading!

I got on C.G.O. to learn some flat picking tunes that don't require singing, but have discovered a couple of songs that I don't need to be a good singer to sing.  Specifically Whiskey Before Breakfast and Worried Blues.  They both call for a "boom chick" strum pattern and as Devin demonstrates, it's fairly easy to sing along to this strum pattern.  I know that's a small sample size and I'll probably come across other songs with strum patterns other than the "boom chick" one, but that's the only kind I've seen up to this point.

Singing is always a problem! lack of confidence, lack of competence. I play a lot by singing in my head or on mute.... and when someone asks you to play a piece, it's often embarrassing!

I can sing, I have a degree in music education. At one point, in my long life, sometime in the ‘70’s,  I aspired to be a back up singer for Sonny and Cher. Seriously. They got divorced and my dreams became only dreams. lol. I never put my music education into practice as life and hard knocks took me down a different path. I became a nurse and spent 30 years as a waitress with keys to the med cart. lol.  I sing with my ukulele but it’s more comical than musical. Lol
