Frequently Asked Questions
If I join, can I watch all the guitar lessons and view all tablature?
Yes! When you join Country Guitar Online, you unlock all guitar lesson videos and guitar lesson tablature. Country Guitar Online is setup just like Netflix or Hulu where you can stream all available guitar lesson videos when you have access to wifi or cellular data. As a member, you can add comments below lesson videos and in the community forum. You also gain access to the Bluegrass Lick Library, guitar scale charts, and other learning resources that are only available in the member area.
I can’t remember my username or password. How do I log in?
Your username will always be the e-mail that you used to sign up. If you have been a member for a few years, you may have been able to sign up with a username of your choice under our old system. If that is the case, send Devin an e-mail at email@example.com and he can find your username in the system and send it to you.
If you forgot your password, just click on “Log In” at the top right menu bar, and then click on the “Lost your password?” link just below the login form. Enter your email address and click “Request Password Reset”. A password reset e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that’s associated with your account. Note: Sometimes the password reset e-mail can end up in your SPAM folder, so if it doesn’t show up in your e-mail account, check SPAM or JUNK folders. If you STILL can’t retrieve your e-mail, send Devin an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and he can reset it for you. Once you open the password reset e-mail, click the reset password link. This will take you to a page at Country Guitar Online where you can enter a new password.
How do I find the guitar tablature?
The guitar tablature for each lesson is located on the lesson pages themselves. You can access those lesson pages by navigating to the “Browse All Lessons” section and then clicking on any of the lessons that are listed. Once you are on the lesson page, you can find the guitar tablature buttons below the lesson videos. Almost all lessons come with guitar tablature and newer lessons will always come with guitar tablature.
If the subscription content isn’t a good fit for me can I cancel at anytime?
Yes! I’m sure you’ll find that monthly rate is a steal for the amount of content that you’ll have access to, however, if you are unhappy for any reason, you can cancel your subscription at any time with no strings attached.
How do I upgrade from the Monthly Plan to the Six Month Plan?
Yes! To upgrade to the Six Month Plan from monthly, you will first need to log in to the member area at Country Guitar Online. Then, navigate to the top menu and select Profile > My Account. Once you are on the Subscription Details page, click on the “Upgrade or change your subscription” link. This will take you to the registration page where you will sign up for the Six Month Plan. The system should reduce your Six Month sign up rate by the amount you have already paid towards the monthly plan.
How do I renew my membership if I am a former member?
To renew your account at Country Guitar Online, you will first need to log in to Country Guitar Online using your original login credentials. If you don’t remember your old username and password, please follow the steps above for resetting your password. After you have logged in to Country Guitar Online, click the “Renew” button on the main page. This will take you to the registration page where you can sign up for a new plan. If you have any other questions about this, please e-mail Devin at email@example.com.
Can I download and print an unlimited amount of tablature?
Lesson tablature is always free to members on screen when they are logged in to the member area. This encourages using tablature on screen in order to save paper. Print friendly tablature downloads are limited based on your subscription level to prevent people from downloading all of Devin’s tablature content and cancelling. Devin puts a lot of work into the tablature and this website is how he makes a living. Read more about print friendly tablature downloads by clicking here.
Can I download the lesson videos?
Country Guitar Online is setup just like Netflix or Hulu where you can stream all videos on screen when you have access to wifi or cellular data. The reason for this is so we can protect Devin’s video content. Unfortunately, allowing video downloading also allows people to share Devin’s lesson videos amongst friends for free. Devin puts a ton of work into his lesson videos and this website is how he makes a living. Thank you for supporting his efforts!
Furthermore, delivering lesson videos via streaming allows us to let members watch ALL Devin’s lesson videos whenever they like as opposed to purchasing lesson videos à la carte. If we allowed downloading and purchasing of lesson videos à la carte, we would have to increase the price of each guitar lesson video, and we prefer to keep prices low and affordable for everyone via streaming. Fortunately, our videos stream smoothly on any device even if you have a slow internet connection. Also, downloading videos takes up space on your hard drive and slows down your computer. Streaming is a much better option for everyone.
How can I loop sections of the lesson videos?
If you want to loop sections of the guitar lesson videos, we have an AB Loop tool built in to our video player. To use the AB Loop tool, click the “AB” button on the lower right of the video player control bar. From there, you can click and drag the in and out points to create a loop. If you are using a desktop or laptop, you can click the “I” key on your keyboard to set the in point and click the “O” key to set the out point of the loop.
How do I slow down the playback speed of the lesson videos?
To slow down the playback speed of the guitar lesson videos, click the “1X” button in the lower right of the video player control bar. This will allow you to select a slower playback speed. This feature will come in handy when you are practicing with the lesson backing tracks. You can also increase the playback speed using this feature.
