@dom I've been wanting to record some tunes, and I asked hubby to set me up with a camera but he's yet to do so. I used to have a camera on my PC but he took it back, LOL. Anyway, he's going to retire in a couple of months so maybe then. I would do it myself but this kind of stuff is his "thang."
Update: Received the guitar this afternoon and it's a beauty. Plays well, sounds great with nice tone, nice action and the intonation was spot on. Might change out the strings because they look old, but other than that it doesn't really need a set up as far as I can tell. I took a chance buying this guitar without ever playing it, and I really have no regrets. It looks new, not a display or used guitar. I'll put up a photo later.
The only thing is . . . it was supposed to come with a deluxe hard case and it came to me in a padded gig bag, or FlexCase as Alvarez calls it. Got on the phone with Guitar Center and they are going to send me an Alvarez PC-1 deluxe hard case since that is what they advertised on their website.
So the GC regrets are now a GC score!! Enjoy your new baby!
Have fun with your new guitar !
Pretty sure they'll ship the hard case to my local GC and I'll have to trade them the soft case for the hard case. I was pleased that they didn't give me a hard time about it, on the other hand I still haven't heard back from the representative to update me on the situation. She said she would contact the original store in Concord, CA. Hmmmm . . .
With COVID tell them to ship it to you.
I just need to go live in a guitar warehouse because I want them all. Guitar Center had all the guitars in the fancy room locked up. I decided I wouldn’t pursue it today. I had too much money in my pocket and took the road labeled Whoa Nellie
Money in your pocket and going into that store could be bad lol
@jerseychicadee I think I'm pretty well set for guitars now. The parlor was one I was searching for, and we have a couple but they just don't play that well. The Recording King is fun but has a hollow tone, the Little Martin is smaller than a parlor and sounds like it. The Alvarez is my Goldilocks parlor - just right!
I'm still considering a D-18. We'll see,
