I'm the only one in my family. My great grandmother's family played bluegrass.
My Dad used to I'm told , but he isn't around anymore. Just me...
@k_simmonsAwesome.
Nope not that I know off.
I’m all alone 😭😭. I’m trying to get my granddaughter started. I’ve played ukulele since she was born. On YouTube, I heard the cutest little girl singing Tonight You Belong To Me with her dad playing a pink ukulele. I wanted to teach her but she’s still resistant to structure. I have 3 Ukuleles laying around and she seldom picks them up. I recently picked up a really cheap ($20) one and just tuned it up and handed it to her. When I play, I have go get her ukulele. she’ll sit with me and strum but she’s not ready to fret yet. My next step is to pick up a Luna Dragon or a Mermaid 1/2 size guitar and see if I can get her to start fretting. I keep trying to steer her. Music gives a sturdy foundation to learning to study and practice. Anything that gets her off Roblox and Friday Night at Freddys is the goal.
Your granddaughter is fortunate to have you introducing her to music! I remember my grandmother singing gospel tunes, and my step-grandmother playing piano or guitar. It did influence me, I think.
