Chris Ledoux is one of my favorites. His son Ned Ledoux was putting out some of his music and sounds pretty similar.
1st I have herd of him.
He’s been around. I’ve heard his sons’ stuff too
This is one of my favorites, He wrote this shortly after turning down a recording contract in Nashville where they were going to make him a little more mainstream.
Here is Ned playing one of his dads songs. He was in his dads band for years.
- @rinny51i like the story teller songs the best. From Jim Croce, John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker etc....Little windows.
I like this version because it answered a lot of questions I had when I started playing guitar about how one man with a guitar would play this song. The only version I had before was with a full band. This is the first song I started trying to learn as a beginner and I'm still working on it.
@rinny51 The Roadrunner is up the road from us about 9 - 10 miles or so. It's a biker and redneck hangout and it has an outdoor bar and restaurant. We call it the BYOF (Bring Your Own Flyswatter) restaurant, LOL. 'Cause, you know, it has a lot of flies. 🤣
@jrick92 Thanks for posting, nice song well arranged, Iam more tuned to Bluegrass.
@jrick92 it is one of my favorite Chris Ledoux songs. Definitely would be challenging because of the story telling parts.
The only Two Ledoux songs I know on guitar are “get back on that pony and ride” and “bareback jack”
I always wondered who Garth Brooks was referring to 30 years ago about "old warn out tapes of Chris Ledoux". From there I hooked up and have been a fan ever since. Few here in the east have ever heard of him. I regret one time seeing him in the Denver Airport (5-10 years before he died) and not asking him for his autograph. Western skies and 8 second rides!
