You in the market for a new strap?
do you make straps?
I’m too lazy to make straps but, don’t tempt me, I’m still an old hippie. I need a strap (and a gig bag) for the little Recording King Dirty 30’s series 7 gold foil parlor I’m awaiting arrival of. I was shopping straps and thumb picks. Came across these beautifully crafted tooled leather straps and about died. At a $30 starting price (I found 1 on Amazon for $19), I pulled back for now (but I’m sensing not for long). I have my little eye on a tooled bourbon one for my other parlor, Roadie. There is one with a pretty foul gold floral on it but I don’t want to blow that amount of money on a strap I’m going to sit in the dark and play. If I were up performing or if anyone except my cat would ever hear me play then I’d blow the $50. I had to share with any of you guys who might be interested how beautiful they are.
I don’t make straps but I do carve wood signs. Maybe leather carving wouldn’t be much different 👍 here is the last sign I carved.
Wow. I like that!
That is a neat sign, Eric!
@jerseychicadee Will you post on here if you find a decent gig bag for the parlor guitar? I need one for the Recording King but haven't found anything for an affordable price anywhere. Well, I found one but they don't make them anymore. I'm still looking. Thanks.
@rinny5
I like it. My father in law was a wood carver. He had an army of little wooden cowboys. He would have loved your fish.
Better deal on eBay. Same bag, guitar stand, and cheaper.
Yeah, I saw those but they're not quite long enough for my parlor Recording King. On the Guitar Center site it says the bag fits Baby Taylors and Martin LX (Little Martin), so I stood my parlor RK next to my gig bagged Little Martin. It sticks up a couple inches taller than the Little Martin bag. My RK is just about 39" long by itself.
Recording King actually made a gig bag specifically for their parlors but no one has them in stock. I'm guessing they don't make them anymore but I could be wrong.
I sent an email to Recording King. Waiting for reply
Uh, well thank you. I guess I could have done that but didn't think of it. Just thought if you ran across one that fit your parlor . . .
