The CT55 is bigger and thicker than the TP40 but the TP40 almost feelS weightless making it feel like I can play faster
not necessarily smoother just yet as I’m still adjusting to it. I’m playing some licks I can play really well over and over to
get a good feel for it.
I’m buying a Blue Chip pick as soon as I get approval on the mortgage. I bought some thumb picks from Black Mountain last month. Hinged picks. Like them but I get the stuck on the upper string often. I’m gonna learn to use them. I figure I’m new enough at this to not even notice any learning curve. I’ve had some thumb picks from Wish for years but they are ulta tiny. I’ve tried bending them to fit but no bueno.
@jerseychicadee the blue chip pick I got is nice. I am a little worried about losing it or my kids walking off with it. I should probably figure out a good place for it.
Ok, I posted earlier that I was a strong fan of the BlueChip thumb pick for Dobro. I got that recommendation from the best Dobro player ever -- Jerry Douglas. Figured that was a pretty good endorsement.
But, I received a TD40 and TD45 a few days ago. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to hear a difference just maybe smoother picking due to the bevel. They definitely sound "woodier" than my standard 1.0mm Dunlop Primetone picks. Pleasantly surprised by the audible difference especially as I've been working harder on my tone -- it helps in that pursuit!
I like the TD shape as it's similar to my Primetones; good shape for building pick control imo. 40 vs. 45? Probably too close to compare -- guess I'd get another 45 if I lose the other. Worth $35? I think so
It was hard for me to comprehend why someone would spend $35 on a pick until i got mine. I really like it now and would be sad if i lost it.
I’m writing a new song...I love my new pick...I love my new Shubb Capo...all the live long day...eieio
I told y’all I’m a cheap date...easily entertained!
I'm still loving my Blue Chip pick! Even have a special little box for it that I put it in when I'm finished using it, and then I put that box in a safe place.
I like it so much I'm thinking about maybe getting another one, a different style. The CT55 looks interesting because it's good to use on a mandolin and thicker than my other picks. I've been trying to learn mandolin in addition to my guitar practice and found that my usual picks are kind of flimsy on the mandolin double strings.
I didn't believe that a pick could make such a difference, but when a guitar teacher played my guitar with my pick and then her blue chip, I heard such a difference! Now if I could only make my tone match hers with my new blue pick! 😊
I think I’ve fallen for this Blue Chip Pick. I just put about 20 picks in a bag and stuck them in a box!
Yep, I had a few favorites that I always used that are just collecting dust now. Although one of them is an Ernie Ball House of Blues pick that I'll still play with if I'm too lazy to go in the other room to get my Blue Chip pick.
I made a small leather pouch and keep it around my neck!
I’m so bad right now. Just ordered #2. God help me ....
