An engaging British Youtuber and regular contributor to Acoustic Guitar Forum who goes by the name of Silly Moustache got me interested in trying 12 fret guitars. See here:
Anyone using them?
Hi Dom! That was a very interestIng video. Does he have nylon strings on his first guitar?
No, steel. But the neck is a little wider than a standard acoustic I believe.
Randy Shartiger explains the world as only he can?
Interesting video. I hadn't heard much about the sound differences. More the ergonomics side of things. It's interesting that for many years, all Martin guitars were 12 frets.
Interesting videos for sure
Found this very cool 12-fret Recording King for $349 at Guitar Center. I am really tempted by this because I do like the idea of a 12-fret guitar and the price is right on this one. There's one review on this with a video of the buyer playing it. Sounds great!
So, I asked my hubby what he thought about getting this Recording King. He just kind of gave me the side eye, because we really don't need another guitar. But he didn't say no! LOL
My Dobro is a RecordingKing - it’s a really nice, mahogany bodied square neck. Tuners are solid, spider/cone are solid, projects very well. Sure, it’s not a Beard but it’s a great value. I think it was that same price range. And while it doesn’t have the cache of a Gibson or National or Martin, the old timers always comment about it so there’s some brand recco there.
Oh no, now you are going to get me interested in Dobros, LOL.
