I'll try it soon!Anyone else doing this lesson right now? https://countryguitaronline.com/flatpicking-in-the-style-of-molly-tuttle/ Â
I put off trying it for a while because I thought it would be way past my skill level, but Devin made it really accessible and broke it down to the point where I could actually play quite a bit of it! Don't know if I will get the speed up to match Molly's but it's still fun to play.Â

@jambongris I find Mollys playing outrageous especially her right hand, She makes it look so easy 😡 😆
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk In my favourite video of her on Youtube, she's showcasing a 1938 D-18 and her playing is so fluid and flawless. The speed and accuracy looks so effortless. Such a beautiful sounding guitar too. Every time I think about upgrading my guitar, I realize I'm not worthy and my pocketbook thanks me.
Yes it's crazy! I tried the lesson yesterday... the speed of Devin on it is just perfect!
@jambongris Sounds a good method, play slowly at first then build up the speed as you get more competent with each tune.
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk What? Me? No, I was just commenting on Ms. Tuttle's amazing skills. I have no plans to play the piece of hers that Devin has chosen. Thanks for the tip though. That's pretty much how I learn all of the music I learn: slow at first and then build speed Memorization is a must.
@jambongris 😆 Your your own worse critic, go on get the cash out and buy one.
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk For sure John. That is what I should do. There was a 2014 Huss & Dalton TD-M with a torrified adi top and sinker mahogany for sale for half of what it retails for and I saw the ad the first day it was placed and I didn't pull the trigger John. I saw the ad on Friday night and by Sunday it was sold. You snooze, you lose eh. I've only been playing for three years and I have a great Gibson J-15 that I love, so I'm happy, but man oh man, that H&D was one sweet instrument. Oh well, there will be other opportunities.
