Bury Me Beneath the Willow

Lesson ID: A0132

“Bury Me Beneath the Willow” is an old traditional folk song that was first archived in 1906 by an English professor at the University of Missouri. The song was made popular by The Carter Family and it has been recorded by several different artists over the years. In this guitar lesson, I’ll teach you a nice instrumental arrangement for acoustic guitar that walks the melody line along with some Carter style rhythm.

really like this one a lot. it’s a pretty song and fairly easy to sing. the double stop harmony notes make it a nice tune to play unaccompanied. looking forward to the alternate version u mentioned too. Thanks for adding this one.

Came across your lessons. Been playing rhythm guitar for 50 years or more but never really learned very many old time songs. My wife just passed away, I’m looking for something to do with the rest of my life, I think that taking lessons from you would be a wonderful thing for me. I am 70 and I don’t expect a lot from me.. just the fun of playing again. You seem to be a very good guitar teacher. I am looking forward to joining first week in December when my SS posts.
