Bluegrass G Licks Scale Chart

The scale chart below shows all the notes that are commonly played in key of G bluegrass licks down near the guitar’s nut. These licks are typically played very fast and incorporate hammer-ons and pull-offs to and from the open strings. The black dots represent all the notes of the diatonic major scale and the blue dots are the surrounding notes from the blues scale. We’ll be posting several video lessons that show how to use this chart to create your own bluegrass licks in different keys.
