Excellent Tibo! You really nailed the rhythm part, but the vocals could've been a tad louder and overall maybe a touch faster, but still, it was really well done and the lead break was spot on. The last part of the guitar break's timing can be tricky, but you figured it out. The bonus reprise of the break at the end was a nice touch!
@jambongris Yes i must learn to sing louder but it is not easy with this little voice... And in english is a second difficulty for me 😉. Sometimes i Can play it faster, it depends the humor of my fingers...
@thib I find this song difficult to sing and make your voice heard over the guitar chords. Maybe it's because it's sung in a lower register, which can be more difficult to project. At least it is for me.
@jambongris I think for the next time I'll play this song I'll drink several beers ('cause I dont' drink whisky), to be inside the tune and not be afraid to sing louder. Perhaps not for breakfast 😉 😉
@thib Brilliant! Maybe a few Kronenbourgs? That's the only French beer I know. It's a good one though.
@jambongris oh noooo, there are so many good beers. Especially belgian beers, Orval, Rochefort, Chimay, chouffe, lupulus...
Kro is the most industrial piss 🍻🍻, but yes, it is well know ,...
@thib Whoops. Just goes to show how much I know about European beer. Thanks for the recommendations.
@jambongris you should come here and do an apprenticeship 😏 😏
@thib Hi Tibo. I hope you are well and enjoying life these days. I just thought I'd pass along something you might find interesting. I recently learned to play Blackberry Blossom and noticed that the opening theme is quite similar to the first part of the guitar break in Whiskey Before Breakfast. Maybe you have already discovered the similarity. Devin plays it super fast with precise accuracy. I'm working toward that. The second half of the piece features a great workout for the pinky finger. It's quite challenging.
@jambongrisHi Michael! google helped me to translate so....the form...
Michael, good to hear from you!
I have little time to play and a lot of problems of all kinds for some time... and I haven't learned anything new for a few months.
I'm going to watch and listen to the piece you're telling me about and maybe it will be my next challenge. I went back to Rail Road Bill yesterday, and it's not done!
I hope everything goes well for you and that we will have the opportunity to share our music.
@jambongris Heheee yes just watched it ... the pinky will heat up!! and yes i'm interested to work this tune! thank you for pointing me to this next challenge!
@thib Railroad Bill requires skills (hybrid picking) that I do not possess, not to mention the vocalizing aspect. Well done you for learning it Tibo! I hope that "all the problems you've had for some time" are soon to be resolved and you can get back to being one of the best country/bluegrass guitar player/luthiers in Grenoble.
Unfortunately, i'm not able to play it.... I'm trying but hybrid picking or picking is a goal for me but very difficult. I'm trying freight train for a long Time without good results...
Perhaps one day...
Bye Michael
@jambongris Hi Michael, I'm starting to look into it.... woaw there is work!! Do you play the entire tune? It's a bit hard to work on the tablature in one go, more rencent lessons are "easier"to follow.
Don't hesitate to make a recording to show us where you are with it!
Good work, see you later!
