I’d like to learn to play “Pinto Pony” by singer-songwriter Paul Siebel. His recording can be found on his "Gypsy Jack Knife" album and “Live at McCabe's” (feat. David Bromberg & Gary White) album. Song has an upbeat melody set against the somewhat dark subject of an outlaw's capture and hanging. Everybody loves a "horse song" right?
Nice song
Good ‘ole cowboy song
I never met a Pinto or a Paint that didn't carry some bad luck along with it. Good song, though..lol
I had never heard this one before. This would be another good one to learn, for sure.
My mom was very superstitious. We had a painted pony and she made my dad get rid of it for that very reason. We also were never allowed to have a bird as a pet.
Cool song,
Thanks for sharing.
@jrick92 I'd never heard that. But we had an Appaloosa that was a pain in the butt, LOL.
@shysue There is some science behind these superstitions. Any time humans get involved with the natural breeding of animals, including dogs and horses, and they breed solely for looks and colors, you are going to introduce or amplify a lot of bad characteristics to the breed. That's why Border Collie breeders fought so hard to keep their dogs out of the AKC, where only appearance is valued; over working ability.
@jrick92 Well, that makes perfect sense. I would never have a papered purebred dog or cat for those reasons. Heinz 57 rescue dogs and cats are the best. 😀 👍
