I was noodling around with lesson A0166 Red Dirt Country Blues Strumming and Fills and thought of a song in the red dirt genre, “Boats to Build” written by Guy Clark and Verlon Thompson and originally released in 1992 on an album of the same name.  Song has been covered by at least Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffet, Jerry Jeff Walker, at.al.  Original version is

.  Great melody and lyrics.

I absolutely LOVE Guy Clark and his style. Verlon, Townes, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowel, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, Foley, Prine. Just an old hippie here
