Being new to the site and new to Flatpicking, where should a person start on this website?

Ā 😎 First of all, HELLO!! Welcome!Ā
where you from? I’m nosy. 😎Ā

go to lessons and search for what you like. There is a lesson filter. I’m a beginner beginner so I started on the oldest lesson first but immediately started shopping every single lesson!! Devin is the best guitar teacher on the internet so every lesson is great.Ā

At the top: Lessons > Guitar Courses > Country Strumming is where I started. But that's just me. 😊Ā

Welcome to CGO, by the way!

@shysue I started with the Fills Riffs and Lead Guitar lessons. These lesson series are very well laid out. I feel like you can pick a course, start at the beginning, and work your way through.

Welcome Steven!

I agree with the others that Devin's lessons are so easy to follow.Ā  The guitar courses are very well planned out, with skills in one lesson laying the foundation for the next lesson.Ā  Also, find a tune you like and learn to play it!Ā  Playing a favorite is very motivating!

@shysue I started with the Country strumming as well to get a solid foundation in my playing. I think it is essential to know some country strumming patterns before going to the difficult stuff 😉
