The evolution of string manufacturing is a pretty interesting thing. I’m sure it will only continue to get better as time goes on.

Thanks for sharing.

I find it a bit amusing people put so much thought into their string specs. A little known fact is 90% of all string manufacturers get their cores and wraps from one single supplier, the Mapes piano string company. Whatever claims individual manufacturers make about their end product is marketing strategy. I don't know it for a fact but it seems plausible to say that string wrap machines are likely mostly all pretty much the same. The product they turn out has to have more similarities than differences. Yet it's undeniable that different companies produce strings with different tone... or is it? I wonder if it's explainable by being a matter of expectations? Personally I've found D'Addario nickel bronze strings bring out the best sound on my DY90 Yairi I inherited from a wealthy friend who commissioned Kazuo Yairi to personally make during a trip to Japan in 1982. They also provide a noticeably better sound on my new Takamine thinline TSP178AC, especially for the acoustic only sound of the thin body guitar. YMMV

I have tried a couple of different  big brand string companies out as recommended by music shop personnel but these don’t hold up to the Wood Tone sound.
