So the guitar I bought for my grand daughters 8 th birthday present just came. It is what it is for $80 Stupid Deal of the Day on Musicians Friend. Sounds like rubber bands right now. Still stretching the strings. Every minute it needs a tune. It will do her just fine and hopefully it will keep her from getting my guitars down when I’m not looking. Just now I came in my room and found what I can only describe as band practice on my bed. Guitars and ukuleles all over. Not that she was supposed to be doing this!! I was working.
That's really cute! Who makes it?
Cordova. It’s cute but it does sound like it has rubber bands on it. I’m ordering a set of a little better nylon string
I wouldn't know whether to be mad at them or happy that they showed some interest 😀
I went to GC today to buy some nylon strings for this little Coco. Came out with a new guitar and an amp. They had like 8 acoustic guitars out, 10 Taylor’s,Gibsons, Martins, all locked to the wall or in locked cases, no help. 20 ukuleles, and hundreds of electrics. While I was in the guitar room I saw 4 acoustic guitars get sold and 3 Ukes! The Electric side was packed with people. I wanted to by a 000 Martin. Nope. None in stock. That Fender saw me and called out to me. Me and white guitars.
The pink butterfly strap came yesterday. My daughters going to hate. We’ll probably have to keep it here anyway. She’d use it as a step stool if left to her own.
😮 😮 😮 That would be tragic if she used it as a stepstool!
She’s going to be 8. I bought her a cheaper than cheap ($15) ukulele a couple years ago. I’ve seen it in her closet pile and tossed about. I never could get it in tune. She just hasn’t gotten the ‘take care’ concept yet. The father is 36 and hasn’t grasped the same concept for himself yet. I’ll keep it here until she can be trusted. She has been picking up my soprano uke and strumming it. It’s a pretty beat up Kala Paisley. All plastic. I had a bit of a tantrum once and smashed it. When I looked at the current price and availability, I found that it had doubled in price. Oops. I fixed most of the damaged but never play it any more. I leave it out so she can pick it up. I keep my better ukes up from her grasp.
