Just wondering if there is plans to continue the Hybrid Pick Rhythm course? I've been a member on and off here for a while and would love to see more content added to it!
Cheers,
Steve
Hey Steve,
Yep the hybrid picking course will continue for sure. Thanks for the request. If you find any songs you have in mind that you'd like to see in the course, send them to me at the top menu under Contact > Request a Lesson.
Thanks!

I love this hybrid course. It really has taught me a lot about guitar playing and I like this way better than using a thumb pick. I can throw those out now
I gotta say the hybrid picking is quite a challenge for me, although taking the lessons Devin has was fun I'm not great at it. 😆
I wish I could better at it.
I've played around with it quite a bit but I haven't started Devin's lessons yet.
I can't think of any country songs that have hybrid picking that I'd like to see lessons for, but there are a couple of non-country songs I'd love to see Devin have a lesson on. Sunflower River Blues by John Fahey is my favorite but I haven't really found a good lesson for it yet. Kind of funny, the tuning on the banjo is such that I've discovered I can play part of Sunflower River Blues on it now. Must be because the guitar tuning for SRB is close to or the same as the banjo tuning of gDGBD.
Can't remember now what the guitar tuning is for SRB. Well I just looked it up and its CGCGCE, not even close to banjo tuning. Oh well.
I like the lessons with up down picking and very few strums strums. Lol
@jerseychicadee The guitar history people say the guitar used to be thought of as mainly for strumming the rhythm for the band or the singer. That would get a little boring.
My chording isn’t strong. I figure that’s why I figure that’s why I prefer picking.
@jrick92 Yes they say In a Band setup an acoustic guitar is a Percussion instrument.
@jrick92 LOL, That's my excuse for not taking lead break's any how 🤣 🤣
in college I had a hard time getting my head around the percussion section. I taught beginning flute and oboe. Always a woodwind player
