I added some guitar licks for the key of G to the Lick Library that sound nice over the D chord... I'm going to record some more key of G lick videos for playing over the C chord on Monday and then a full lesson video on how to use the licks for improvising a couple days after that.
If you're at a bluegrass jam and you don't know a song's flatpicking melody and it comes time for you to take a solo, you can use these licks to play a really nice solo as long as you know the chord progression.
I'll have some good info in the video later but just wanted to let y'all know there are some new licks to work on!
Β
Hope y'all are staying safe out there. It's been nice hearing from everybody in the forum!
Talk to y'all again soon -

This library is very useful...thanks Devin!
YES!Β Exactly what I need to practice for the local open jam. Thanks Devin!
These will come in handy for sure. Thanks!
Great- thanks, very helpfulΒ
you can never have enough
I really am having fun with these licks, and maybe one day I'll be brave enough to put up a video. But my nickname is ShySue for a reason. 😀Β
@shysue you could frame the video so itβs just your guitar that way you could maintain your shyness 😀Β
I have seen people do that, maybe I'll try it, too.Β
Iβm having fun enough knowing Iβm starting to make some sounds discernible as music. Lol
I've found the Improving course much better than just learning Licks on their own, Although
you can never have enough Licks in the hard drive that's on your shoulders 😀 Β
