Love it! You've got some skills...fast picking and clean too. You might work through all the lessons in a few weeks at this rate! I'm going to post a lesson for Wheel Hoss in a couple weeks.. we've had a bunch of requests for that one in the past and I got motivated when I saw this video of David Grier the other day..he tears it up around 3:30. I bet you've seen some of the other videos that Troy Grady posts on YouTube. Pretty cool camera angles.

Hey Mac, what is the steps to get fast and clean tone at guitar? Increasing metronome a little at time etc....?

Hey @jocelyn! I'd imagine different approaches work for different people. As of the last few months that I've subscribed to CGO, I tend to play along with the video as the tab is on the screen too. I prefer to try and start out playing it fast (cause it's more fun that way), but I slow it down if it sounds sloppy or the notes aren't clean.

I've had trouble in the past playing quickly and clean, with songs such as Jerusalem Ridge that I learned elsewhere... I think the most helpful thing Devin has taught me so far is the importance of UP DOWN patterns, if you do it his way it seems to be the most efficient, and therefore easier to play more quickly.

But I guess long story short is do what works for you! Metronome is great if you find it helpful, I prefer to set more of a beat in my head... and play a song over and over clearly, once you can play it at that speed while making the notes sound clear, try and speed it up a little and stay at that speed until you can do it over and over clearly...

Maybe this works for you or it doesn't, but I will get bored after 10-15 minutes of the practicing the same song, and like to stay entertained by switching around different lessons!
