Hey Devin, My Papa used to love to play and sing this one based on Merle Haggards version. Sometimes Merle would strum it and I’m sure I can apply the style you used in the Haggard style strumming lesson, but a lot of times he played it by picking the single notes within the cords. I would enjoy a lesson on the difference and if the Styles could be blended or would that just be nothing more than adding in certain riffs...there is a nice straight forward version of him picking each note on YouTube from a episode of the Waltons he appeared on.
