“I’ve just seen the rock of ages” Billy Strings

Probably one of the easier Billy Strings songs to learn with some cool fill riffs.

@rinny51.     Taking Water is pretty easy to play and has a cool sound if you like to sing and play.

                    I haven’t been able to break down the solo yet. I’ve been trying to

                    Figure out the fills riffs on “I’ve just seen the rock of ages” by Billy Strings but

                    Haven’t been able to.

@rg yeah the chord progression seems pretty straight forward but how does it sound without all the other stuff going on?

@rinny51 Definitely not as awesome without the Mando and Banjo but still pretty cool when you play and sing it. I have the first part of the solo figured out but am struggling with the rest. I think I’ll just need to spend a little more time on it and play the video at 1/4 speed so I can break it down. I wish I could find a video like this for Rock of Ages so I can figure out the fill riffs. It’s a pretty sweet arrangement at a slower speed with some cool riffs. I haven’t seen a video for that anywhere.

@rinny51Sweet, thanks for sharing. I’ll have to check it out and slow down the video to see what he’s playing.

@rg there were a couple I found but this was probably the easiest to see what chords he was playing. Looks like he may have a capo on the 2nd fret.

@rinny51Thanks Eric,

He does. Drop D Capo 2,

D, Cadd9 and C.

I figured It out this morning.

Thanks for the video. It definitely helped me figure it out.

@wjssavhotmail-co-ukYeah, it’s a great song,  fun to play.

Hoping Devin can help a brother out with the solo.
