"I'll Sail My Ship Alone" is a 1950 song written by Moon Mullican that reached number one on the Country & Western chart. Patsy Cline recorded this song on her last recording session, before she died in a plane crash. It was recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis in 1958. Others recording this song were Hank Williams, Ferlin Husky, George Jones, Mickey Gilley, Leon Russell, and Doc Watson with Del McCoury and Mac Wiseman.
I listened to a few different versions of this song and had a hard time with what the guitar part would be. Sounded like a lot of steel guitar in most of the versions. Good song though.
I feel sea sick after listening to this song 🤣 🤣Â
Never heard this one before. Just a little bit before my time, but I've heard a lot of songs that were before my time.Â
Probably the best for straight up guitar picking is the Doc Watson with Del McCoury and Mac Wiseman version. Not on YouTube but you might find the version on Spotify.
