Both my parents grew up in Turkey Texas, at the same time Bob Wills was living there in his teen years. My granddad and Dad were cotton farmers as were Robert Wills' family. Bob and my grandpa both became barbers in Turkey but I'm not sure about the timing or if they knew each other.

It made me kind of sad to see how young Merle Haggard was in this video. All those guys are long gone now but the songs are still playing
