[Sticky] Want to meet people in your area to jam?

(@devin)
Noble Member Admin

Hey folks, I know several of you are looking for country and bluegrass jams in your area. We had some interest earlier so I'll break this out into a separate forum category. I know it's not the best time to meet up and jam with all the COVID-19 going around but hopefully bluegrass jams can start back up soon! Make sure you include your location in the Topic Title so it will be easy to look through the various posts.

I have moved and now have a back yard pool, my son has a significant man cave with pool table, lights, every mans dream spot. By next summer we’ll have an outdoor area with fire pit/ bbq area with lounge. Jams will begin in April. Fresno/Clovis area.

If this “China Virus” calms down, I’m going to put some posts on FB and see if there’s an interest. I think it just may happen. Covid dependent.

Ah, I see. Well it's a good idea. I was thinking of doing something like that at some point but couldn't even find anyone close by that plays guitar.

Part of the problem is that everyone is on a different skill level, playing wise. That's why I was really looking forward to the 2020 Pickin' in the Pines in Flagstaff this year. It's a 3-day event where people camp out and will get together to jam around a big fire pit circle. Smaller groups get together, too, throughout the campground. I thought we would surely find some players around our skill level (and I'm not saying we're at a real high skill level here, LOL) that we could play with. Well, maybe next year.

I haven’t found or looked for any guitar circles. There is Uke Jam in Tulare once a month. I’ve never made it up there. It starts early and I’m 2 hours away and lazy on most all Saturday’s.

I took my family to a bluegrass jam at a hotel in Amarillo a few weeks ago.  It was a two or three day thing.  I think they're planning on doing it every few months or so.  It's held by the Panhandle Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Association if anyone is interested.

I'm always ready to jam between Lubbock and Abilene.

I'm in Owensboro Kentucky.  Home if the bluegrass museum and romp bluegrass festival.

The bluegrass museum has jams every Saturday and Sunday.

If anyone is nearby come on to the bluegrass museum.
