Total beginner - but Devin's lessons are helping. For Beaumont Rag - How many times should I play the A part then B part. Is it just AB AB?

If in a jam session - what parts do I indicate for others to lead? Is it just the B part? If they are leading on the B part do I shift to strumming?

I'm obviously still confused with how the A and B parts are supposed to go,. Appreciate any help. Thanks John
