Hello everyone new member here. Been playing guitar off and on for the several years now. But never long enough at one time to actually get any good lol. I sold off my electric guitars to help pay for my house a few years ago but I held onto my acoustic. Its a Guild GAD25NAT mahogany that I bought about 15 years ago. Its a wonderful guitar to play but I've been wanting to add another guitar with  spruce top and I've got my eye on the Martin D10E, anybody playing one of those?

Hi Wesley, welcome to CGO!

My main daily player is a 2014 Martin D-18 which is a mahogany back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. Really like the warm tone of this guitar.

There's a good forum for Martins out there, https://umgf.com/ (Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum). Someone here at CGO told me about it and I wish I had read it before I bought this used D-18. Turns out this year and model of Martin has a problem with the binding coming loose, and I have indeed experienced this problem with it and had to have it repaired.

In any case I do still love this guitar. You might want to check that forum out for all things Martin and potential problems though.

Welcome Wesley.   I have a Martin DM that I like real well. It was my first, and cheapest, guitar but I still play it more than my others.

Welcome to CGO. Martin guitars not required. Dolly Parton plays Guild. Garth plays Takamine.

@jerseychicadee I love my guild and will be keeping it and playing it often. Just want something else. You know that feeling when you've got your eye on a new guitar!

I had a Taylor but the voice it had was too bright to my ear. Kind of twangy. It was an Academy 12e. I sold it so it didn’t have to sit idle. A beautiful instrument  It was just that model though. I hear Taylor’s that I love the sound. The Taylor models that I like are way out of my price range. Below is Penny, Baby Blue, Dana and my newest, Monty, is just to the right. Roadie is in the my room.

This is my guild. I've decided to just play this one for awhile. It's been very good to me. It might be made in china but it's a completely solid mahogany guitar I think I paid around $400 for it over 10 years ago

@wesa1988  That's a nice guitar, Wesley. My hubby has a Guild, too, and he really likes it.

I had a Guild for years when I played in college (47 years ago). I sold it to pay my phone and electric bill 36 years ago.
