That sounds like a heavenly weekend of musical bliss for sure John! So much to savour and revel in and memories to last a good long while. Â
I just watched a video from Dublin, woaw, what a beautiful night you 've attend!
@thib The whole concert is on You tube now, It is mainly all instrumentals, Although played by the very best of Bluegrass musicians.
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk Thanks John. I was looking for the concert, but could only find a couple of songs recorded on phones so not the best quality. I did come across and video of Bela Fleck and Billy Strings playing a piece call Boulderdash. I'd never heard of Bela Fleck before, but he really does bring the art of banjo playing to another level. Wow!
@jambongris Yes Michael, He has his own style, I must admit i do prefer Earl Scruggs hes the daddy 😀 😀
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk Like a lot of Boomers, my first experience with Earl Scruggs was watching the Beverly Hillbillies. He and his duet partner, Lester Flatt, wrote and performed the theme song and starred in a couple of episodes. You probably know all this John. In one episode, both Earl and Lester were vying for the affections of Jethro's mother, Pearl. So Lester would sing, "Pearl, Pearl, Pearl, don't you marry Earl..." I remember that as if it was yesterday, but can't recall something that happened last week. Or course, their real claim to fame is as pioneers, along with Bill Monroe, of the bluegrass movement in country music. As you say John, he's the granddaddy of them all.
@wjssavhotmail-co-uk Oh yes. TV seemed to have an abundance of desirable females for a young adolescent to fantasize on in 60's and Ellie May was definitely on the list.
