Playing Guitar and Overuse Injuries

(@shysue)

I wanted to share this article with you all. Some of you might not be "aging" but still have overuse injuries. It's an interesting article and I learned some things. For instance, I didn't know that hearing aids don't work very well for music and that you should definitely wear ear plugs if you are listening to live music that's really loud. I'm guilty of not doing that when I was younger and remember leaving the venue with my ears ringing because of the high volume.ย ย

Anyway, hope this link works for you. I don't think you have to be a subscriber to read this.ย

Have you seen Dennis Zagerโ€™s (in The Year 2525) Easy Play Guitar? Way far out of my price range!! His reviews are great though. Wish I could afford one or two!!ย

I hadn't heard much about Zager's guitars. I'll check them out! Although I'm pretty much stocked up on guitars right now. If I get another one I'm pretty sure my hubby will not be happy about it. 😆ย

Do your calluses on your left hand Fingertips occasionally start peeling? Or is it just me?

@rinny51. Mine peel and flake constantly. Still hurt like fire too. ย I file them with an Emory board. I have no feeling (other than that blister feeling) anymore. Makes typing difficult. I used to type 70-80 wpm but not anymore!

Yes, my calluses peel occasionally. Also, on my middle finger where the callus is fairly deep I get this groove that will hang up on the guitar string. Kind of annoying.
