Just an update (if you care). My hubby's finger has healed up well and he was playing this weekend with no problems. It took a good three weeks though for it to heal to the point that it didn't hurt to play.ย

I cannot believe that my husband has hurt a finger on his fretting hand again, and I did it to him. We were trying to move a boulder in the yard because we're re-landscaping. He pulled up one end and I was going to throw a smaller rock under it to keep it propped up, but he came down with the boulder just as I threw the smaller rock. Smashed his left index finger pretty good. Turned purple and swelled up right away even though we iced it. Dang.ย

Needless to say he couldn't play guitar last night, but hopefully he will be able to next weekend. 😥ย

@shysueย  Literally between a rock and a hard place. I hope he gets better soon.

Youโ€™re kidding!! Last time he did this so did I and now I just stabbed the pad of my left forefinger with a very sharp knife. Just a dot but it bled. Yesterday, ย I spilled hot coffee on my left hand while making my am pour over. Stupid me couldnโ€™t wait, had to try to fill my cup while the basket was still filled to the brim. My first cup of coffee in the am is all I can think about until I can sit down and smell that first sniff. I thought of your husbands finger injury from the beginning of this thread as I held onto the ice bag all day. Iโ€™m ultra careful with my old knife set but this was a brand new set I got for my sons house. Not used to having a sharp knife around.ย

Just an update: My hubby's smashed finger is doing better and I think he'll be able to play this weekend.ย

Saturday is Halloween but we're not handing out candy this year because of Covid-19. Guess we'll have to go into the back bedroom (which is my "office") to play our guitars, because if we play in the living room the little monsters, um, trick or treaters will hear us and knock on the door even though the porch light is out. I kid you not, we get hundreds of kids going through our neighborhood on Halloween. Just hope they don't "trick" us because we're not handing out candy!
