Hi all,
Just ordered some Black Mountain thumb picks. I've played with a flat pick for years, but still play finger style too.ย ย A thumb pick gives the bass strings so much more punch.
Just wondered if anyone else has had any experience with these before they come?ย I'm really looking forward to testing them out 😀
Keep on Picking ๐
I have them. I posted something about them a few months ago. I use them sometimes. Theyโre comfortable. I also bought some Paul Kelly Bumble Bee thumb picks (just because Steve Earle uses the brand). I still reach for my ย CT 55 blue chip pick most often.ย
@jerseychicadeeย I'm going to try a blue chip pick, either the CT55 or TP50.ย I've been using Dunlop picks.
I have several bags of chips wherever I perch throughout the house. Never know which one Iโll grab. sometimes I close my eyes and just do a blind grab from the bag just to keep myself entertained.ย
i use the Fred Kelly Slick Picks (thumb picks) and found them to be a good pick.
Lol. I wrote Paul Kelly up above not Fred. Iโm stupid. I went to school with a Paul lol. I meant Fred. Dementia is real here
Have never used a Thumb pick, it looks so clumsy 😀ย
Yes, I ordered three of them and I'm still getting used to it. Takes some getting used to but I'm working on it. It's kind of a neat design with the hinge on it, so one size pretty much fits all.ย
I slip one on during a practice and use it a while. I have a bag of picks I keep on my music stand. I do a blind grab, try not to cheat. Pull out the first one I touch. A little game I play to keep myself entertained.ย
Getting used to a new pick every day would just slow me down. I use my Blue Chip pick every day, but I've been trying to get used to this thumb pick, too.ย
