I recently picked up an Eastman E1D. Wanted something less expensive that I wasn't afraid to take out camping and whatnot, but still all solid wood, good playability, good sound. This guitar definitely exceeded my expectations. Its super loud, has a nice tone, and build quality is great.

I got a Martin DX 1 Dreadnought... had it since I was six years old. 22 now! It's a pretty solid bluegrass guitar. My banjo is a washburn.

I see a little bit of everything at the local open jam.  A lot of Martin's, quite a few Taylor's, some Yamaha's and Gibsons also.  Of course the Martin's are known for their lows, but I think it's nice to have a mix so it's doesn't all sound the same. I also think a lot of it is in they player's technique.  A good picker can make just about any guitar sound great.  I say play an instrument that feels and sound good to you.  If you are comfortable with your instrument you will enjoy the journey much more.  I personally have 2 Taylor's and I love them.

Was thinking of getting a Martin LX1 for my daughter since its 3/4 size and a

little easier for her to play.

Does anyone have an LX1?

@rg Yes, I have one. It has a nice tone for a little guitar and would be a good size for a child to learn on.

Her Little Martin LX1 arrived two days ago and she hasn’t put it down haha.

It does have a really nice tone and is fun to play.

That's great! I'm always happy to hear when young people are exposed to music (playing it not just listening to it).

Apparently I am the only one playing a Taylor. I have a Gibson Epiphone too but the action is way too high.
