@jambongris yes it is very beautiful, it is plane tree, not very common.
You Can check the website "de musica" in incourt, Belgium, there are two guitares mades by Vincent Jadot, a luthier i met, and thé backs and sides are made in plane tree
Unfortunately i didnt see your poisson d'avril the first, and yes i should have thinked it was true ... And it was not impossible and not a problem 😉.
@thib What is the wood you are using for the top of your guitar? Can you get a hold of a nice piece of spruce? Cedar perhaps?
@jambongris yes of course a beautiful spruce AA or adi if i find one not too expensive..
@thib The song was written in 1961, but Willie had been partaking of the herb since the fifties and has the COPD to prove it. My post referring to the song title was just random philosophizing on my part. Please take no notice of it. Hoping all is well in beautiful Grenoble.
@jambongris je i think i understand 😉.
Sunny day in my mountains !!
And in Toronto ? Winter is ended now?
@thib Rain here in Ottawa these past few days, which is good because winter didn't provide much moisture due to lack of snow. Compared to Ottawa, Toronto's winters are usually pretty mild, but winter here in Ottawa this year was unusually mild. Climate change I guess. Our Rideau Canal, the longest skating rink in the world, was only open five days and the skiing in our Gatineau Hills had to rely on machine made snow for the most part. I hope wildfire season isn't bad this year.
@jambongris Sorry I've forgottent... You live in Ottawa and not Toronto! Here too, the weather is too hot... I don't thing skating on a lake is still possible here... the ski was only on high mountains, a lot of little ski resorts are closing now... Good luck for the fires last year was terrible
@thib When one thinks of Canada, Ottawa isn't usually the first city that comes to mind. On the other hand, to a lot of Canadians of a certain age, Grenoble will always be linked to the 1968 Winter Olympics, where Nancy Greene became Canada's sweetheart after winning the gold medal in the giant slalom event.
@devin Hi Devin! No news about the giveaways? Are you planning to do others? It is true the responses were few but it showed some motivations for subsribers to post and show some playing, it is fun to hear what friends are learning on the website. Bye, Hello from France. Tibo
@thib I was also surprised that there were only three of us who made a recording for the February contest, which is probably why no prizes were given, (although no official announcement was ever made). I supposed Devin was discouraged by the lack of contestants and decided to end the giveaways. Maybe with your encouragement as well as others, he will change his mind and have another one? I hope you are well Monsieur Tibo.
@jambongris Hi Michael, I 'm fine, thank you, I'm finally playing guitar again! And I also start the new construction (a Parlour)...
I think like you for the contests, it's a shame that don't go well..., perhaps later..? I'm a subsriber on a "Blues Guitar" website (CrazyBlueStuffClub) ans the forum is very active, and the mensual contests too, it's a motivation for the members to work a different subject each month.... so ... it is possible, but I don't know the history of CGO contests, if there was a lot of participation by the past? Have a good day! Tibo
