@thib No, not on a D-35. I don't think you will ever see one of those things on a Martin guitar, lol. Speaking of D-35's there's a 1972 D-35 available at my secondhand music store, but they want 2,246 Euros. I should check it out. It's still on the pricey side though, but worth a look I'd say. The picture you sent me of a guitar with the sound port, is that a Gibson or something else?
@jambongris Hi Michael, on the picture it is my recording king RO326 (customized with Martin Logo). If the 1972 D35 of your store is in good condition, the price is correct . I paid my 1979 D35 1500 € but because there are some cracks on the sides and neck, but it doesn't affect the sound: fantastic! In very good condition I'ld pay it 2500 minimum. I hesitated a lot "Who am I for buying a professionnel guitar like that, with a big value for my wallet??" but zero regret, I love it!!
@thib You play for your dog and for us here at CGO so that makes you almost professional so your purchase is more than justified and the fact that you love it is all that matters anyways and I am sure that I can also find justification for me. I appreciate your long distance appraisal of the price evaluation, now I have to get down there and give it a pick and strum. Your RO326 looks pretty sweet.
@jambongris Be careful, it is dangerous, if you touch it.... it 'll be difficult to quit it... is there a picture on the net?
@jambongris so I recorded it again with the D35... I don't know if the sound is good without a true mic...
@thib The sound was an improvement over the first recording and the D-35 did make difference, but that home made guitar in the first one did provide more than adequate accompaniment. The lead intro to the song and the guitar break at the end are so cool. I gotta hand it to you Thib, my nerves would be completely shot by the time I got around to the last lead break that I'd make a complete mess of it. I can see why you want to upgrade your recording equipment though, but what you have there is fine and at least it doesn't sound like the recording was made under water.
@jambongris Thanks Michael... a little present: a recording of walk on boy by Billy in Luxembourg when I saw him in November
@jambongris Yes it was cool, I 've bought the recording on nugs.net
@thib Devin could probably do a bang up arrangement of Tennessee Stud. I'd never heard it before. You were there, so I gotta ask, did they have a real live horse on stage to make those hoof clip-clopping sounds or maybe they managed that with some kind of sound effect? Giddyup.
