Hello from Columbus, Ohio.

I found this site from watching. YT video of Man of Constant Sorrow.  Glad I did, looks like stuff I'd like to learn.  My playing has been just me around the house for about 40 yrs +, very stagnant.  I started taking some lessons and jamming with some guys on Saturday doing blue grass stuff and I'm pretty happy now.  Making some progress.  Still have my Harmony Sovereign I bought in 1965! Plus a couple of other guitars and one keyboard which I'm determined to learn too.

Glad to be here and looking forward to learning some new stuff....

Hi Clary.  Ohio is having a moment now, especially at the RNC, but enough politics.  Welcome to CGO.  YT brought me here too, but it was "Nothing To It" that caught my fancy and I'm proud to say, I can play it pretty well (not well enough to showcase yet though).  Forty years is an impressive number to be playing albeit a lot might've been dormant, but your playing and learning probably won't suffer from stagnation here so I hope you enjoy yourself and happy picking!

Thank you Michael....watching the RNC convention as we speak!

Devin does a great job, he has a warm personality, I love the cowboy look and demeanor and the white background makes it easy on the eyes.  A truly gifted instructor.

You know if a few weeks I'll be 73...and I'm feeling moved to want to put a song list I can play for seniors (like me) who are in assisted living facilities....what senior doesn't like some country music?  Maybe I'll "get it together" in time for Christmas holidays.

Bless you all and God Bless America

@roadog1951 Yeah, the RNC is great TV, but us Canadians are freaking out at the prospect of another Trump presidency.  He's not a big fan of trade with Canada and alliances in general so I think the world as a whole fear a repeat of another four years of MAGA, especially the Ukraine, but it seems all but inevitable at this stage in the game.  I admire your lofty goal of putting together a set list of Devin's song arrangements to perform for your friends at the senior's home and wish you all the best in achieving this aim.

@roadog1951 Whoops Clary.  My girlfriend wants me to apologize for talking politics on the CGO Forum so yeah, I'm sorry and going forward I'll stick to talking about music.  I hope y'all have a great weekend.

Wise girlfriend 😁i understand, apology accepted. Everyone is so touchy about politics these days. I probably shouldn’t have mentioned the convention.

I am jamming with a large bluegrass group today.

80 degrees in Ohio beautiful day.

take care friend.
