I joined CGO early January 2024, after trying out several other websites and YouTube channels. I’m new to playing country and bluegrass style, since I grew up playing Rock and Roll. I always liked Country and Bluegrass music, but playing it was out of my reach. I still have my favorite YouTubers, but Devin seems worth the paid subscription.
Since I retired in late 2019, I found the time to further hone my guitar skills. Since learning the fast picking country and bluegrass style, it mysteriously found its way into my Rock and folk style of playing.
I do enjoy it, and the people I’ve met who also play it.
Hi Al. You were wise to pick up the guitar at a young age and stick with it until you ended up here, where you can put all your experience to good use. I've always loved rock and roll music, but never paid that much attention to country music and I came upon Bluegrass quite by accident when I saw a concert of Union Station and Alison Krauss in 2015 and that stayed with me until Covid came around and I bought my first guitar and after stumbling around for a couple of years, found Devin and CGO and I am grateful for that because that was a game changer for me. Anyways Al, welcome to CGO. I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I do.
