Picking hand, Floating or Planted?

For me it could be either, just depends on what i am playing. If it’s a combination of strumming and picking I am playing I would use floating probably

I have to plant the pinky on the guitar or I just start flailing all over the place. It's really the only I can flatpick right now, hopefully I'll get better at it and more confident in pick placement in the future.

Tried floating with fingers bent but too unreliable/unstable. Don't plant fingers on scrachboard but have them so that they lightly brush it.
