I think there already is spell check.   If you type a misspelled word, a red line appears underneath the word to alert you to the fact that you need to try typing the word again until it is spelled correctly.  It doesn't recognize British spelling as being correct though.  Colour, neighbour, labour, that sort of thing.  There is a spell check that automatically changes the misspelled word to the correct word without you having to do it yourself.  That's probably what you are referring to John.  That might be a lot more expensive to apply and maybe not practical given the number of people who use the community forum.
