Since I received my Blue Chip pick late last week I've been having a lot of fun playing with it. I let my hubby try it out and now he wants one, too. We were really impressed with how much more smoothly it comes off of the strings, and it actually helps us play better. Well, now he wants one, LOL.
Has anyone else tried a new pick and just decided that this was the only pick they wanted to play with from now on? I really didn't think it would make that much of a difference but it really did!

What is so special about them? I know they have good reviews. Do they give a clearer tone, is it just smoother? Which pick did you get?
I have a TP 48 and I never want to play acoustic with another pick.
@morrow1616 I watched some reviews of them on YouTube. The said they are “self lubricating” and glide off the strings easier. I didn’t know I needed this in my life but maybe I do. Lol

@morrow1616 I got the TP-1R 40. What's special about them is that they do enable you to play faster when you're flat-picking because of the beveled edge. And I have other picks that are beveled, but they aren't done as well as these Blue Chip picks. They do seem to just glide off of the strings and you get less "pick clicking" noise when you strum. I never thought I would be raving about the qualities of a guitar pick, but here I am. LOL.
@shysueIve been wondering what the difference is between the CT 55 and. The TP-1R 40.
@rg The number refers to the thickness, so the 40 is about 1.0 mm and the 55 is 1.4 millimeter. The CT was designed by Chris Thile and the TP is their classic shape. TP-1R 40 is the classic TP 40 with one rounded corner, which I like for straight strumming. The other two corners are sharper, good for flat picking. All corner are beveled which helps the pick slide off of the strings.

Blue Chip TD40, How do you know the thickness in millimeters.
The 40 is 1.0 mm. On their website is a FAQ that talks about the thickness of the picks and what the numbers represent.

Think I'll stick with my trusty Dunlop Ultex 1.4mm @ £4.80 ($6) per six pack
@griffs-bluegrass I have one on the way that I won. I am a bit skeptical but everyone that has one says they are awesome.
