You can hear it right away. Everything is a lot clearer      I wouldn’t be interested in the Bluegrass version thought. I’m don’t like really stiff strings

I do like the heavier feel when it comes to strings

I have the Country Woodtones on now.

I'm gonna order the Bluegrass strings this week.

I look forward to trying them out.

I learned the Billy Strings guitar break for Randall Collins

that he plays on one of the Gibson 1936 Carter Vintage videos.

It'll be fun to try and pull in some of those riffs once I learn the song.

The bluegrass string gauges are the same as the country strings but the string tension is barely higher on the bluegrass strings. It's the "12.5 gauge" in between lights and mediums that's the biggest selling point for me. I love the feel of them.

I've been really happy with them so far. The gauge is great and the tone has been the best of any strings I've tried -- especially for recording.

 

About to post the first portion of a new lesson in a few minutes... a Norman Blake style lesson. Should have the rhythm lesson video for this lesson wrapped up later this week sometime.

Only guitar left to put them on is Baby Blue who is brand spanking new. It came strung with 12/53’s.   The Woodtone’s are 12/54’s. I’m loving the 12/53’s so far.
