I’m considering drop the cash and getting a Martin HD28. Does anyone here have one?

I really like the sunburst but am wondering if the aged toner might be better.

I was curious to hear from those that have an HD28 to see how they like it.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a Martin HD28. I now see what every one is talking about when they say this thing is a cannon.

@bstrings I also bought an HD28 reimagined natural finish a few weeks ago and yes it's a cannon!

@tribaldesignhotmail-com that’s awesome! Congrats man! The HD28’s are such great guitars. I have a Taylor 214ce as well and that will now probably be retired. I just love the sound of this HD28. I got it at a guitar shop in Bozeman Montana. They set it up and put new strings on it. The HD28’s I’ve played at guitar center sound pretty bad because the lack of set up and the strings are usually dead from having sat on the guitar so long.

Did you finally choose the sunburst? I have a Taylor as well , a 2005 810 that I purchased second hand while ago and I must admit that I didn’t touched it much since I have my new HD28.

I would have loved to have gotten the sunburst finish but they’re so hard to find anywhere these days. I got the aged toner. The Taylor 214ce I have I think I’ll use as my travel guitar. I’m going to be a little nervous for a bit when flying with my HD28. I’m not sure it would fit in the overhead bin and I could see a flight attendant making me check it.

I’ve always wanted to try out a Taylor 816 and a 416r. I’ve heard they’re great guitars as well.

@yiwork

Got my new HD28.
The strings are mediums so it’s a bit of
an adjustment from the lights on my Taylor 214CE
but I love the guitar. I’m sure I’ll get used to the thicker string gauge.

@yiwork thanks man,

much appreciated. I love Tyler Childers.

I'm working on both guitar breaks for his song Coal on bottles and bibles.

Congratulations. The first song I learned to play here with my new HD28 was in the style of Tyler Childers. I also opted for the Martin Lifespan Treated 013 medium strings. I really love this guitar!

That’s awesome Serge,

Tyler Childer’s songs are fun to learn.
There’s a really fun guitar break to play of his from the song called The Gospel According to fisherman that’s pretty easy to play. I find I can’t pick as fast yet on the medium gauge strings but I think it will just take me a little time to get used to them.

I’ve always played Elixir lights so it’s a bit of a change but I really love the sound this guitar cranks out.
