Hybrid Picking Basics

This lesson explains what hybrid picking is and shows you how to do it. If you're getting bored with strumming and you would like to change things up a bit, hybrid picking is a great technique to learn. The ability to hybrid pick will make you stand out as a guitar player because there aren't too many pickers out there that know how.

Cowboys and Angels - Dustin Lynch Part II

In part II of this lesson series, we'll go over how to play the verse, chorus, and bridge of this song. The verses are very similar to the intro that was taught in part I, but there are a few differences that are worth learning. This is one of my favorite country songs on the charts today!

Bluegrass Guitar Riff in G

This lesson goes over how to play a challenging bluegrass riff in the key of G. The riff is tough to play up to speed, but it also sounds great when you play it a lot slower. To build up your speed and picking efficiency, try to replicate the up and down pick strokes I use in the video.

Better Than I Used To Be - Tim McGraw

Better Than I Used To Be is a great song to learn if you enjoy playing and singing. It's really catchy and most people have probably heard this one. Not a bad song to pull out for your friends. It's not terribly difficult, but it's a great one to learn to practice vocals.

Toothbrush - Brad Paisley

This is a great song to push you to the next level with your hybrid picking. The hybrid picking is fairly difficult and so is the syncopated rhythm. This lesson is recommended for pickers that have been playing guitar for about five to ten years.
